I'm about ready to pull the trigger and buy a new S70. The only thing that would keep me from buying within the next week is if Canon announced a similar S-series camera with the Digic II processor added.

Has anyone heard any rumors of the above mentioned happening, or am I just wasting my time thinking about it? Would it even be worth the extra $$$ no matter how little to have the Digic II???

I also considered the new G6 since I just sold my G5, but I decided that compactness is more important to me than hot-flash shoe, swivel LCD, and an extra .4x zoom. After all, the best camera to have is the one that I will actually carry with me. The faster lens on the G6 is the only temptation factor for me

I think they've announced all the new kit they're going to for at least the next 6 months (vacation time is the earliest I'd expect another round).

Ughhh! I've been reading/seeing many negative things about the S70 lately.

Namely, poor images outside of the 28mm focal range. Blurry images, mediocre focusing...

I'm glad I haven't made a purchase yet.

The G6 is now looking very, very attractive.
