I was extremely bored tonight, and with limited resources.......I rigged up a half-arsed splash scene. I was dropping either a penny or a dollar coin into the dish.

Let me cover a few of the obvious......save some of you some typing.

1. This was my first time ever doing this
2. I was using the kit lens
3. I was using the built-in flash
4. I know my sensor is filthy
5. The water/dish wasn't exactly clean
6. I over/under PP some.....expirementing with it basically

Now that we have that out of the way, please give me some CC. I'd also like to know what kind of settings you folks use for this. I know I committed 3-4 ultimate sins already, but I don't have a ton of cash to throw at this hobby at the moment. So.......I am trying to perfect what I have to work with. I do have a 50mm f1.8.......just didn't try it out yet.

FWIW, 30D.....kit lens with a CP.......f5.6, 1/250.....

Taking heed of your own comments.... ;-)a ...I think you're onto something!
The big splash hole is very interesting, I've never done any splash pics mysef but can imagine that it might look great if you tried again with a bright background or dyed water.... THEN I'd clone out the coin in a few of them

Those are cool. I would be tempted to clone out the coin in a couple of those. The hole in the water would be interesting without it.

I've got a few ideas in mind........I just wanted to get a feel for how they'd turn out with cheap glass. I will probably start the ideas next week. :D
