I have a 1d and a 50 1.8, use to have a 70-200 2.8 and loved it. Made the decision to go all prime and i bought the 50 1.8 to have a lens for the time being. I am looking to get some L lens because i love the quality. i am looking at the 35L, 135L or the 300L f4 IS, i really tried to make the decision with out making a topic but I can not make the decision. I will be getting all of the lens listed i just need help on which one to buy first. i will be shooting a lot of outdoor sports, until basketball and volleyball starts and by then i will have money for another lens, but also i will be shooting a few senior portraits pretty soon.

Will the 135 have enough reach for baseball?
Will the 300 f4 IS have too much reach for sports?

I am leaning towards the 135 or the 300 because i want a variety of lens not just a 35 and a 50.

135l is a great sports lens if you can get right on the sideline..

300... well F4 isnt fast enought for indoor sports, and IS is worthless for that. reach wise? on a 1d it should be good just back up a bit.

I was going to suggest the 200L f2 IS, then i saw the price.

How about the 200l f2.8, good price too

i had the 70-200 2.8 and it was an amazing lens, and the reason i have the 50 1.8 is so i have a lens from when i sold my 70-200 2.8 and got a new lens,
