Just curious what you guys do with your shots? Do you print them out the larger print version of them and hang them on the wall or just archived them? I have a lot shots I like but the cost of printing them out and to hang them scare me away.

Some go to online galleries and a handful are printed. I have about 7 or 8 in frames around the house and I have a neat "walbum" that hangs from my living room door which holds dozens of 6x4 photos.

Prints usually aren't expensive. Only the framing. I like a reusable frame that I can use to rotate prints.

That's what I am afraid of.....having picture frames all over the house. I thought about getting a digital picture frame. The problem is that with the price I am paying I could get a very good LCD monitor and hooking it up to another computer. I would get better picture quality than those frames. The frames do not have the highest resolution also.

I have my laptop out 80% of the time when I'm at home. That rotates through my photos when the screensaver runs. No need for LCD photoframe.

+2 for this idea for various 8x10s and some 5x7s...

I am, however, starting to develop a nice collection of home-brewed 11x14 prints which are the result of monthly camera club assignments. I've only been a member of this particular group for a few months but so far, I think I'm turning out some fun work.

You can see 'em here: http://www.pbase.com/flyingphotog/desert_light (external link)

I still have to post this month's images which follow the theme: Patterns In Nature...

I sell about 4000 a year. They all live in many DVDs separated by year.

I'm the opposite in that I love having all my pics around the house. Anything from 10x8s, to two 30x40s (niiiiice). Every couple of months I change a few for better/different ones.
Top tip, DON'T hang prints on both sides of the stairs...people inevitably "back" into them while looking at the pics on the opposite wall.

I have a couple poster frames that I rotate images in. The fridge used to be pretty ugly. Now it has mom, wife and sister.

Since I moved back to Canada (I had sold nearly everything I own) and bought a new place, I've been very lax in replacing prints on my walls.

Everyone should print more.

people will always try to stop you doing the right thing if it is unconventional
Full frame and some primes.

Twenty seven framed/matted prints through the house from 8x10 to 13x19 to 16x24 and then another roughly 70 different images matted to go into the frames if I want a change.

Have another dozen or so at the office that are regularly swapped out. And then another eighteen or so that are hanging someplace or another in the public, I often get asked to exhibit my stuff so I oblige. I don't sell prints to individuals anymore so it is an easy way to attract those paying clients I might be interested in shooting.

But an image doesn't live until it is in print, its quality can only be guessed at when not in print, its impact is much greater in print and the viewers experience is much more rewarding to them and the photographer when viewing a print instead of some randomly calibrated monitor or digital frame depicted image.

I do both. Lots of my photos are hanging around my house, my kid's homes, and those of many of my friends and extended family. I think there's more enjoyment to seeing a print on the wall than simply archiving the images on your computer.

Of course, I post a lot of my images online, and can use my Apple TV to play slide-shows of my images during parties and family get-togethers.
