Simple Flash Bracket for me

Hi All, Hope you're all well and that

Sorry for the NOOB post but basically I've read through some of the threads about flash brackets and ended up utterly confused by the range that is available (like with everything camera related I suppose :rolleyes.

All I really need (at least I think I need) is a bracket that enables me to located the flash to the left of the camera and in doing so, producing slight shadows across the faces of my subjects (I do a lot of Nightclub Photography)

Something along the lines of the Canon SB-E1 I guess would be ok?

Yea not to mention where on earth do you find that Canon flash bracket anyway? I have never seen it for sale anywhere.

Yea its okay, I think they just stopped making it because it really does put a flash in the WORST possible place. Your pictures would turn out worse than a cheap point and shoot with a huge 580ex sitting right in line with your lens like that.

Thank you very much. It took me a while too when I realized what I was really saying.

I would recommend the RRS bracket but the bracket alone is 150 and then you need an "L" bracket to go with it that costs about the same!!

I also would not recommend buying one unless you get to see it and hold it for yourself (or the recommendation of someone you trust). There are a lot of crappy brackets out there.

There are so many good posts on this forum I'm surprised there are not more posts on flash brackets. - Good luck!

Yeah...the OP wants the dreaded side shadows?!

You might consider a simple angle bracket that slightly elevates the flash and places it to one side of the camera body. One variation of that bracket has two shoes that allow placing the flash horizontally or vertically.

Then, of course, there are several rotating brackets from Stroboframe.
