cool....

this is an example of being at the right place at the right time...
very nice capture...I loved the first image more than the second as it shows the birds flying in to the image, whereas in the second they are leaving...IMO...

I would have preferred just the first image. No need for a triptych (blah blah, meh). Something about just a single shot is enough for me... More powerful.

I really like the first one because it is really quite dramatic in some senses. A touch of urban, mood and a dark sort of quirkiness that you have portrayed so nicely. Modern New Zealand... In many ways.

i liked number 1 myself because there are more birds and they are arriving (as already said) but in number 2 the sheep is responding to the birds disturbing him, so i felt together they tell a story

hence the diptych
thanks for your comments guys ;-)a

i was walking around on the hill and i saw the birds circling, so i got ready and waited for about a minute for them to come back up the hill
shortly after that shot series, the sheep walked away

Nice shots Somethingsimple. Of the 2 I like #1

What settings did you use? I feel that a narrower DOF that blurred the B/G more may help as there is just a little too much detail in the B/G that pulls my eyes away from the birds (which are much more the main subject than the B/G).

When I 1st looked I saw foreground, sheep, buildings then Oh! birds.

sorry, no lower DOF was available at that range (wish it was tho):

I'll see you again, when the stars fall from the sky, and the moon has turned red, over one tree hill...
