i liked number 1 myself because there are more birds and they are arriving (as already said) but in number 2 the sheep is responding to the birds disturbing him, so i felt together they tell a story

When I 1st looked I saw foreground, sheep, buildings then Oh! birds. sorry, no lower DOF was available at that range (wish it was tho):
