Sorry guy, I'm on the other side of the water from you. Just about a 45 min drive across the Antioch Bridge, or the Benicia Bridge. ;)

Oh yeah, that's right...I wonder how long it would take to fill a California version of this thread? LOL

Sam Houston was born in Virginia
Jim Bowie was born in Kentucky
Davey Crocket was born in Tennessee

Sorry, but while the did defend Texas, they were not born there. But Bowie and Crocket DID die there.

This is true. Actually, a large percentage of the US settlers in Texas, who fought for Texas' independence were from Tennessee in particular. Tennessee has always been in my top 5 states! ;)

Crockett is commonly quoted as having told the US congress "You can go to hell -- I'm going to Texas" after his re-election defeat. The guy had balls and mostly just liked getting into fights, so he wound up in the biggest fight around at the time.

Actually, I read that he actually never gotten into a lot of fights, it was the theatre that embellished upon his scrapes. "Killed a bear with his own hands...etc."

The bear fights were way over-dramatized, though he had a history of shooting bears (don't know why). At any rate, there are all sorts of nuts stories from way back yonder! ;)

#41 ... The Stars (NHL) have been quite successful, and always play competitive games. It's good to have a little success from all the local sports franchises (ahem, Rangers?! Wake up!!).

That is a pic with my last-night-acquired 2nd-hand black XT (2nd XT wearing the 2nd nifty-fifty I've owned) and my 3-day-old 5D (donning my favorite lens, the Contax Zeiss Vario-SonnarĀ® T* 35-70mm f/3.4 Macro) together, one hanging out on each eye. ;)

In a way, yes it is...but, obviously, its not the black XT I sold to you. :D

I was going to run home and see if the XT was still there!:p 5D? what happened to 5D2 or 7D or whatever? $1000000 question, which one took the pic?

Hehehe... I'm not that sneaky! ;)

At short mirror-range, it had to be taken with the 5D at around 35-40mm on the C/Y lens. The resulting 80mm from the 50 on the crop camera would require too much distance. They do both appear to be at angles in this shot, though the XT is a tad more pointed away from straight-on.

Seriously, I needed the best quality image to start with for this intensive 80x80 avatar, so I could not hamstring myself by using the MP-weak XT!!

I would have to guess the 5D. My reasoning for that is that his finger is not on the shutter of the Rebel.

Actually my unnamed finger (there's the index, pinky, thumb, middle, and then the one that shall remain unnamed ;)) was just next to and had a 50/50 shot of inadvertantly striking the shutter, but the XT is so light and fragile, that it probably wouldn't have fired even under its own miniscule weight, especially with only the plasticky nifty beefing it up! :D

I wanted to wait, but almost 6 months with no camera was killing me. I am not disappointed with the 5D at all... ;)

...so far!

Hmm, I have always refered to it as the "ring finger". ;)

I call it this, because my wife always gives me crap for NOT wearing my ring on my "ring finger".
