That reminds me: I've seen a lot of high-fence in hill country. I think a lot of small ranches are putting in exotics now and trying to retain them for sport hunts. Those hogs are tough li'l b*$T*rds! I've seen them gang up and kill a calf before!!

#18 ... Texas is so big that people constantly use the phrase "the size of Texas" as a rough unit of measure for things like large meteors, small planets, extraterrestrial impact craters and pre-modern land masses. :D

It also means that if you get bored living at one place in Texas and move to get away from it, you'll probably still be in Texas!

Colorado is just as big as Texas - except it's all wrinkled up.

Actually, part of Colorado used to be Texas! We were generous and gave land to beef up that tiny state.

So, what are you saying here? That Texas is so flat, you can sit on your porch and watch your dog run away for three days? Five days if it's an old dog?

When I visited Austin, I asked for a high point to go take photos from.
People told me to check out Mt. Bonnell. So I did. I had my hand held GPS with me which shows how many feet above sea level you are.
Ready for this? It was a grand 716 feet above sea level.
That doesn't even rate as a foothill here in California. :p

Some people hunt with a gun. I use a Canon.
