My sister has a digital camera (the Canon EOS 5D) and a "blimp" (which is a sound dampening box that fits on the camera). She is using this setup to quietly take still images on set of a movie production.

The problem that has arisen is that she wares glasses and the blimp + glasses makes it really hard to look through the view finder on the camera. Also the blimp in covering the small digital screen on the camera so she can't just use that to set up her pictures.

The camera has a video out port and came with a cord for it. She was wondering if there is some way to hook that up to a external view screen. If there is, what might be the best (most affordable yet portable) way to do it?

If this is something she is going to do on a regular basis she may want to consider one of these.

I'll second that. If she has a notebook, all she needs is a usb cable and the EOS Utility installed (which has the remote capture)

She wouldn't be able to use the LCD screen on the back of the camera anyway as the 5D does not feature Live View.
