I went to Lone Star Park this weekend for opening night for the 2008 season armed with my 40D and a 100-400mm L. The timing couldn't have been bette for this shot- the pack came around the final curve just as the sun started to set. By the time the next raced started it was already to dark.

I love it. I also like the angle of the fence line...makes it look like they're going "downhill" picking up speed!

I would like to see some of the darks lightened up a bit... I think that would seal the deal for me.

I love the rich/sharp detail in the horse's muscles... really a great capture.
