Couple of quick easy questions

1) When you put a 1.4x TC on a 70-200 f/2.8L it becomes a 98-280 f/??

2) Does an f/1.0 lens exist? Can one exist?

1) it would be a f4 with a 2x extender it will be a f5.6

2) Don't know.

I saw an F1.0 lens (50mm) on Ebay used last night...yes it exists. Very expensive though

I think Olympus once had a 50mm f/1.0. In fact, I think my brother had that lens. All I really remember is that he had one lens he always used to brag about all the time, and I think that was it. However, I could be wrong. :)

Canon 50mm 1.0. Very expensive indeed.

Your calculations are correct, that would be the effective focal length, with a 1 f stop loss of light.

My friend has the Canon 50mm L F1.o This lens is very heavy and can take pictures with only a candle, for light.

Canon actually made an f/0.95 (!) for their rangefinder line, WBW.
