Well Scott would send me bad emails if I didn't post these...last AHL game of the season as both these teams missed playoffs. 6-5 win by the hometown Amerks (white). IDK what was wrong but had focus issues all game long which sucked. Now to concentrate on baseball as I have a lot more games than days over the next week or so, starting at 1pm today and still no sleep!

Dennis - I tried up ice shots as you suggested but the net was just too much. TG was impossible, this time because they wouldn't let us down there for some reason like the rest of the games. Did try a few things but nothing too great was working. Whole Enchilada was run on all these, seems to be my go to for hockey!

#1 - Just to get some stock type images headed down by the bench where there's some room to shoot - only can shoot at mid-ice though so had to wait until the players came back during warmups and hope not a lot of others around to clog up the shot.

#2 - This is the type of photo you get when you're late getting to the party - they were doing them facing the other way, another 'tog and myself couldn't get down right away, got there too late to get on the ice with the other 'togs. The other guy yelled (nicely) for them to turn around and they did for this. Of course I wasn't ready and just threw on my flash so this is way darker than I wanted as my settings were all screwed.

#3 - Open ice hit sends 'em both flying...

#4 - Everyone in a straight line and ready to go? I'm not droppin the puck till you are kids...

#5 - This isn't going to end well...goalie watches one hit the post and bounce right to the Amerks shooter - he hit the wide open net easy for his first goal with the team (he's new).

#6 - Lettin her rip...I think he scored on this...maybe it was the next one...

#7 - Plante made some nice saves in this one...though let in some questionable ones the game coulda been higher scoring if it wasn't for some sick moves. This is unfortunately focused on his pad and a little soft everywhere else since shot at f/2.8.

#8 - Photo dude, yea you on the upper tier - take my pic! Wavin to the crowd as he was named the games 3rd star. He's not lookin at me, there was a hot girl with a shirt that said "PUCK ME" written on it right behind me - he thought it said something different.

Great capture in #5... it looks odd because it almost appears like there's 2 pucks in the picture but i'll assume one of the "pucks" is a broken stick.

#7 doesn't look too out of focus or "soft" as you're saying, but it may be because these are scaled down from the original crop of course!

Musta been nice to sit next to a groupie... screaming everytime their favorite player gets the puck!!

Actually, I think the illusion you're seeing in number 5 is the glass refracting the image of the bottom of the player and the puck.

Mike, so you're all baseball, all the time now, correct?

Good call Dennis... how do I notice a black speck on the ice and not the player's leg?!

Thanks Justin...and you nailed it, it doesn't look so much soft just because it's scaled down. I'm sure a good 8x10 print would be made but anything larger you'd notice.

Dennis, you are correct in the glass made the puck and the players legs double up a bit. Unforutnatley as we've discussed there's just not many spots to shoot from in this place. I'm going to shoot a little soccer and softball (pro and youth) but for the most part I'll be doing baseball mostly. Shot a "AAA" game today and back to low Class-A tomorrow. Tried to get the MLB game down the road but unfortunately BA couldn't get creds cuz someone down there already has a season pass through them (Cleveland). Looks like I have to find strings to pull to get there. I think I have about 6 games over the next 4 days though.

Well, that sorks. Proctor and I have joint BA custody of the Sox and Cubs, which works out well. I just got shot down with BA for a Cubs/Mets day game next Tuesday, but they offered us an evening (6PM start) the night before so I'll give this a shot. Up side of shooting in the evening is they run a parking bus to a remote lot which is not only convenient, but it's a LOT cheaper than the normal $30-$40 they get for parking close to Wrigley.

Gotta start working the Cougars a bit, too.

I love day games at Wrigley, I learned exactly when to switch sides and get that perfect light. Always have good shots leaving there.

Cleveland I didn't know they were up there, anyone for that matter. I know one of the team photogs pretty good so maybe a string can be pulled to hook me up with the right contact if I decide to go in the future. Closest team is Toronto but lighting there is not even close to ideal.

I'm finishing "AAA" images right now, about to crop and upload. 2 hours of driving, 2:09 game time, 3 hours post work!
