This DSLR thing is driving me INSANE!

Ok, a little over 2 months ago I decided to sell my G3 and step up to the DSLR world.
I got a used 10D and a Sigma 18-125 lens.
1 week later I buy the 50mm Mark II
1 month later I buy the 70-200 F4L
6 weeks later I am selling the Sigma and buy a Tamron 28-75
Right now I am seriously contemplating selling the 10D and putting the money towards a 20D.
My friend just got a 20D and some of the features are SO nice, like being able to shoot at higher ISO's with way less noise. The camera is SO much faster, especially image preview!
Oh and I have also had thoughts about selling my 70-200F4 that I just got to get the 70-200 2.8L IS.

Does this ever end? Am I totally insane???????

It CAN end at a price....

Keep your 10D and focus on glass for now. Wait till you OUTGROW the 10D before upgrading...

If you do that.. then by the time you upgrade, either the 20D will be cheap used.. or you can get the next gen or two after the 20D.

CDS and I always do this "good cop" — "bad cop" thing. It's kinda fun.

That one would not be a smart move. Unless you need that extra stop—which comes at a very high price—stick with the f/4. BTW: If you upgraded to the 20D, you could get that extra stop back by just shooting at a higher ISO.

Looking for Fisheye.

Now planning trips to K2 to take photos far away in no man's land. but tall my wift that I am away to somewhere else!!

I feel your pain. The 20D does have some amazing features, and can be blazingly fast compared to the 10D/300D.
However, as far as noise is concerned there really isn't as much difference as all they hype may have you believe. I would say there is a visible improvement at ISO1600 and ISO3200, but below that, the difference is not really noticable. Plus, there are so many great noise reduction programs out there it's not really that big a deal, atleast to me.
I still look at some of my ISO800 pictures from my old 300D, like this one, and am very impressed.

The ony real solution for Toogy's problem is a 1D MkII... at leat untill the 1Ds MkII finally hits the shelves.

But seriously,..

You'll want at the very least;
85mm f/1.2L
135mm f/2L

...and perhaps a 200mm f/1.8L for starters....

And this is assuming you aren't shooting wildlife.. in which case of course you would NEED the 500mm f/4L IS


Once your set with the above.. then maybe look at the "MkIIs"

Oh Toogy, might as well answer your question here. Ya at the one at Sparta. I was invloved in about 6-7 events there over the past few years, it's my favortie Dragway, never liked Cayuga.
