Ok so heres my deliema, My girlfriend used to really enjoy photography and I'm starting to get her back into it and she is begining to love it again (it's a long story). Anyway I told you that to ask you this, What kind of lenses and accessiores are out there for her camera? She has a PowerShot S3 IS. I know very little about cameras but am trying to learn. Doesnt help that I'm stationed 450mi away and we dont get to see each other much

From what I've found it looks like you need to buy an adopter to put different lenses and filters on. Is this true? How well do they work? She enjoys taking outdoor photos, if that helps at all. Thanks for any of your help

check out lens mate. they have the adapter and converters. I use them on my S3. I leave the adapter on all the time to protect the lens mechanism. I think Raynor makes these also

Amazon has all kinds of accessories and kits. Just search on your model number, they'll come up.

Best option is to buy a couple of 2GB SD cards and go for it. I took forever to get an adapter and filters telephoto lens but the best thing I ever bought was a tripod. It seemed to make a HUGE difference to my photos. That said a UV filter has a certain benefit in protecting the lens from mechanical damage when extended.
