How many of you here go out of your way and at your r=own risk to get some stunning shots?

Only reason I'm asking such a weird question here because I'm planing on a trip to the Florida everglades and go to a gator ranch/farm and I want to see if I can pay the gator handlers an extra $50 - $100 to get in the pen with the big gators and get there mouths open with the 17-70 lens and get some shots of them very up close to them.

And has anyone every gone out for any shots like this?

Not that extreme for me, though I have made people wonder what I was thinking.

I would consider putting your camera on a monopod and used a remote and poke the camera in there.

From the other side of the fence. That way you save the $50-$100 too.

Or you could get the wranglers to get the gator closer to your side of the wall (with you outside of course) and shoot with that wide angle, then distort it further in post. Or use the monopod idea but use a fisheye lens to really give the impression of being close-up ... and personal. Who knows, could be a pix you could sell to some breath freshener company later.

Editing welcome :D
