When I look at the man's hands, I realize that that's a really small bat! :-)

My suggestions for your next photo op at the ball field would be to shoot from a lower position - like sitting down.

And remember - ball, face, action. There are exceptions, but if you can capture all three, chances are you will have a pretty good picture.

I remember those days. Too cute. If he takes to the game you will have plenty of opportunities to practice! I can shoot five nights a week watching my kids.

the black and white conversion has a nice feel to it...
but definitely keep shooting and get some faces...
