I just got back from a vacation cruise to Mexico. My wife & I boarded our cruise ship in Los Angeles... while waiting to head off into the Pacific, I walked around deck, checking out how industrial the port area looked. Then along came a couple of tugs...

Taken with 10D/Tokina 16-50 f/2.8 combo at 50mm, Av=f/8, Tv=1/250, ISO=100

As we were pulling away from the dock, this one was chugging along side...

I don't get very many chances to shoot boats and ships... this was a nice change of pace.

Here's my favorite shot... as we were heading out, a Los Angeles Fire Boat was coming in.

It's so cool looking... my wife was saying it would have been great to see them shooting water in the air as we passed.
