ON FF camera preferably; set the focus to manual and turn IS off, focus at infinity, ( and later at the nearest focussing distance to comare) look through the VF through well back-lit frosted glass or similar (e.g. toilet window - doesn't have to be very bright light but good daylight) and just zoom from 70 through to 200 whilst looking through the VF

Notice the ring of light zoom back and forth???

Do I even want to know why you're sitting on the throne with your gear zooming around? :D

Come on guys, he was focusing on the neighbors window when he discovered this, not his own.

And why this matters, I'm eagerly waiting to see that answer as well.

shooting club VB and club soccer, hoping to get back to landscape work soon.

when you're on it it's behind you, when standing it's right there!

and yes I consider myself mostly sane but my window is to the right when sitting.

I like privacy. I have no windows. (Actually it sucks, but it wasn't my design)

At least the WC downstairs has one, and it's to your right, seated. ;)

I think the OP just wants to get everyone in their bathrooms with their zooms so family members can make fun of them.
