I'm seeking a P&S camera for my GF that has little or no lag and will provide great IQ.

She curently has an Olympus C-750 and although the picture IQ is nice the lag sucks big time from the time the shutter button is pressed till the actual photo is taken.

I know this is a canon forum but I'm open to anything that will actually take a photo when needed.

She's tried using my DSLR's and just can't handle them properly.

For the money, nothing beats a PowerShot SD1000. Now that the SD1100 is out, the SD1000 goes for around $120-150

Where are you seeing the SD1000 for $120? The lowest price I can find right now is $156.45 shipped.

I agree the SD1000 is a great little camera for what you pay. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of some of the higher models, but it just works well as a camera you can keep on you all the time and use to take some great looking pictures.

Just a rough extrapolated estimate... I guess I was a little optimistic

Still $160 is a great price for this camera. It's original MSRP was $300.
