That's a nice train and sky. Too bad there isn't a caboose where a guy could stow away and just ride off into the sunset.

MOOOORNING ALL!

Tommy, I would jump on that if I were you!

Chance to pad the portfolio....sounds like a good deal to me!

I definately would like to. The problem will be transportation there. Its a couple hundred miles away and I don't have a car and a rental to drive that far alone with the minimum driving experience I got is just not an option. I might need to go the day before and book a hotel.

I don't believe that the corruption was limited to just the west coast....

This (external link) is an interesting book to read if you're at all interested in the history of railroading. It's a very detailed history of the first transcontinental railroad. Considering the difficulties they faced back then, it's absolutely remarkable they were able to build it.

The railroad is still the undisputed champion at hauling vast quantities of freight in the most cost-effective manner. As fuel costs increase, that fact is going to become even more evident.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

No, but it is most obvious once you move past the Mississippi.

Yes, they are vastly more efficient, no denying that. I might add that book to the list. I like the way Ambrose writes.
