lol....just shows you are far from ocd! Monk would never dip anything in anything anyone else did...let alone eat food that had been sitting out...let alone eat food that would be drippy....

ROFL....I suppose you have a point...what a sad way to go...sure do miss out on lots of good stuff like that.

Slik 613 CF would be good for the low-down shots. It's not a very high one (3' with all legs extended but not center column), but gets down low for those flower shots. About 1-1/2 lb. plus head.

I do. I don't eat food in public that requires fingers (i.e. ribs, corn on the cob, chicken) unless it's possible to cut them with a knife and fork. I don't eat sandwiches in public unless I'm really comfortable (or have no other choice) with my company. I have weird food issues...fondue is just in the list.

would it hold the M3 and the 70-200? (the problem I have with the lighter tripods is that they aren't super stable with the moderate size gear) I have a nice CF tripod that holds 25lbs and works great for the big lens/camera combo.

G'moo

How many of you have seen the TV show "Monk"?

If you have, then you'll probably know why I, in my whole life, have never tasted any type of fondue.

you know, that was a very nice thing to say. I'm afraid macro will defeat me though. I just shake too much.

DO IT!!

Hehe I am checking train schedule (4,5 hour train ride) and hotel prices ($200 for 1 night ugh).

Question: I'm trying to budget in a weekend down in old town Sacramento before school gets out. Shooting the trains and stuff but also seeing about getting a model (or a couple) to shoot in/around those buildings. Trains. Just for fun "padding the portfolio". Is anyone interested in something like that?

Definately. And if I do it then maybe with last weekend and the next event next weekend I might be able to get in on the Copenhagen Hstoric Grand Prix in august. (They promised me access 2 years ago but changed their minds). Looking at the photos I shot in 2006 and those I got last weekend I see a big improvement.

That sounds like a blast. But there are about 700 miles between me and that much fun. *sigh*

Sacramento? Hmm.... that would be mighty tempting - but I have so many projects lined up (money again!!!) for the next month I doubt I could make it....

It is actually cheaper for me to fly there on Southwest - but I lose all mobility due to no car.... plus I have so much camera gear it would be hard to fly :-D
