I've seen paint with more IQ than most of the staff at the local Fry's...

Just remembered a Fry's story. A local Fry's had several employees get in big trouble after black Friday this year. It seems that they were approaching customers who were waiting in the VERY long line to check-out (I think it was something like 2 hours from some people) and selling them a place at the head of the line. They claimed it was a management directive, but I don't think that went over.

That sucks. They forget about families with more than one child.

There were apparently a number of other oversights this year. Some of the kids on my team are from all the way across town. The plan in the past had always been to try to group kids by zip code, so that people would be more likely to have practices near where they lived. At least half the families on the team were from the outer reaches of the area the team draws from -- some to the south, some the east, and some the north. We can't be the only team that was put together like that.

That would be the 9x12 tablet....

Cool. I've got a 6x9 and really like it (when I remember to use it  ).

Off to put the kiddos to bed.

Does this mean you will now be forced to play musical avatars when you get tasked with dealing with the unruly masses? ;)

I might be willing to hum a few bars of 'Yellow Rose of Texas' for Wu next time she drops in.

Wasn't that hard.

I cut out the picture from the background and put it on a separate layer. I replaced the background with the color from the forum page using the color picker. I then made a copy of the character and pasted it into a new layer between the original and the background. I skewed it and gave it a bit of gaussian blur, then merged the layers.

The shading on the clothes I did with burn & dodgle.

The whole thing only took a couple minutes. The hard part was matching the background color so I wouldn't need a border. I finally had to take a screen grab of a portion of the page and import it into Photoshop so I could use the color picker.

I didn't mess with the shadow part...but snagging the background color does make for an interesting effect.

You've got it!!

Of course, if Pekka ever changes the page colors, it's back to the drawing board.

I did this once before, but I can't remember which avatar it was on.

Hey!!! I resemble that remark.

I am determined to finish the wedding photos this weekend. That could make me a very dangerous person for a few days.;)
