For folks that have the POTN camera strap and find it a bit short....the Op/Tech Uni Adapter Loop #9 (external link) is just the ticket...I didn't even have to extend it fully to give the strap a whole new level of functionality.

The #3 (3/8" webbing) (external link) works well, too. If you've got a 5-40D where the eyepiece shutter wants to be on the strap, it holds that nicely too.

It kind of sucks that they didn't make the straps long enough in the first place...but this simple little addition makes a world of difference. Definitely money well spent.

I always loved Stearmans.

I saw a photo on another website recently of something purported to be a Stearman, but it had an engine cowl. The rest of it looked right, but I don't recall any ever being built that way. It could have been modified. Don't know. There's a white biplane in your shots, and it has a full cowl. It appears to be a Waco, though. What was it doing there?

There was one plane at the fly-in that had a full cowl. I didnt get a picture of it because it was in the hangar for most of the day. It didn't get rolled out until just before we took off, so I was busy elsewhere. I checked the info on it and according to the FAA N-number lookup, it was manufactured in 1941.

That little white one is indeed a Waco. I guess the fly-in was open to all comers. There was a float-equipped Super Cub that showed up late in the afternoon on Friday.

I wish I could go to sleep and not wake up till November. I am so sick of the elections, and we still have 7 months of this foolishness. Actually, I was sick of them 6 months ago. The process has become so all-absorbing, it detracts from real problems that have to be dealt with soon.

I occasionally marvel at the similarities between politics as practiced in this country, and professional wrestling.

Yeah... It's just as bad with the local elections here too. Most of the city council is term limited out, the current city attorney is a dork and there is a rich businessman trying to unseat our ineffective incumbent mayor.

Wow. Good imagery and a lot more up to date than Google. They're still showing PETCO Park under construction... It was completed in 2004.

Well.... depending how things go this next month or so... I might, just might find a 20D... We've been talking a lot about photography and she really wants to get into that business - her B&W photos from Burma are amazing from a photojournalistic standpoint -- and well, I wouldn't have an issue investing in the future of new photographer... I've made worse investments on the stock market...

I think I know somebody with a 20D who will be upgrading around that time....:)
