Hey everybody,

I believe this is my first time posting in Motorsports. I am part of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo's Supermileage Team. We competed at the Shell Eco-Marathon 2008 just this past weekend, where teams from across North America, including Canada and Mexico, come and compete to see who can build the most fuel-efficient car. Cal Poly placed 2nd with 2752.3 miles per gallon. Here are some pictures from the competition:

6) Nascar made an appearance as well

8.)They were still hitting the curves at over 150mph. As for fuel efficiency...?

Yeah, try 15-25 mph. The world record car can go over 10000 mpg though. My SUV gets about 15 mpg at 15 mph, so it's still a noble achievement.

Surprised to see an open wheel car in a supermileage contest to tell you the truth. Hardly doing anything good in terms of drag.

What's ironic is seeing Nascar at the event.

a couple of cameras + eyes that are starting to open + boatloads of patience

Yeah, shame on Shell...I heard they spent around $40,000 getting that built also. Those rims are entirely carbon fiber though. Pretty cool.
