I have recently been asked to do a large portrait to be hung over a mantle. I need some recommendations for labs that do custom digital printing and are able to do large prints. I'm thinking in ranges of 16 x 20 to 30 x 40 with a canvas texture. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks:

I'm in the US. I should have mentioned that but thank you.

See my printing FAQ, it links to Elco and tells you how to do large prints. Not sure what "custom digital printing" is, and 40" isn't particularly large.

MPIX.com does canvas wraps... not particularly expensive either. 24x36 for $170US.

Had gear, but sold it off. Starting back in with a SL1 / kit lens. Looking to expand the collection.

I'm getting into uncharted waters as far as digital is concerned. Lately I've been asked to do stuff that was no problem for me in the past when I was shooting medium format film cameras. Now that I've gone into digital cameras it's a little harder for me to adapt. I've got the 10D and 20D and I'm not sure what sizes I'll be able to enlarge to. How many megapixels is required for a 40 inch print?

Thanks for the info on MPIX.com. I'll take a look at it. I have found one so far called Shutterfly.

I found the site AMCCOMIS mentioned which is MPIX.com and found that my wording should have been "Digital Imaging Services".

MPIX is the consumer division of Millers... They're a phenomenal lab.
