This is nothing formal. She is my old friend. She saw my gallery and this idea popped up. She asked be about this session and naturally I said...well, I am not ready, but...why not. She is a rather shy lady, but we know each other very well.
For me this is a learning and for her....I don't know, fun, something new...possibly good shots to show family or friends:-)
I am not pro and I do not think that my pictures will turn to be something of a great value:-))) At least not soon:-)))

I haven't read all the way through but this web page seems to cover some of the bases that should be thought through and agreed in advance....

Certainly there are legal issues over copyright, for example, and you should make sure you both fully understand what each of you is getting from the session. Also, if this girl is a stranger to you, a third party would be sensible in order to avoid any unfounded allegations of impropriety.

This isn't even funny. Couple of years ago no one would even bother and nobody would think anything bad of a situation like this.
I have some children photographs in my gallery and to be honest I am considering taking them out, because these days people might think something sick about me....I hope not, but that's how it is.

People are just giving you fair warning. In your first post you said....

I have been approached by one girl whether or not I can have a photo session with her.

This implied to me, and I'm sure to others, that this girl was a complete stranger to you. If you had said....

A good friend of mine has asked me to take some pictures of her....

then you probably would not have been given the advice about legal ramifications.

Nonetheless, it is good advice to have in the back of your mind for any shooting situation, especially with a lone female model. Maybe she will have a friend, whom you do not know, who would like some photos taken. Then it would be sensible to have a third person present. Nobody is suggesting that anything bad would happen. It's simply a precaution to avoid any "misunderstanings".

Hi Alex,
Why choose sunset and not sunrise?

The sun sets really fast (at least where I am from), so that means you only have a little time to take the shots you want with available light. You are shooting with an f/2.8 capable lens but not IS capable... will that be fast enough in the diminishing light?

I do not know any better since I don't have an SLR but if I had a photo session with someone and never done it before, I know I would take longer than a pro would and might eventually miss shots since available light would be receding quickly.

While the location looks awesome, those high walls and lack of external lighting might make for some long shadows.

Just food for thought

Have you actually gone to the location at sunset?

I agree. You might want to try sunrise instead. Reason being, at least for me, after the sun has set you are finished and can no longer continue shooting. If you do sunrise instead, and the model is exceptional and you would like to continue, you can.
