Where do you guys get prints done? I have such a hard time having my pictures printed b/c they don't believe that I took them and make me sign all these waviers and stuff... they said they are cracking down on people printing off professional pictures. What would I need to do to prove to them that I took the pictures?

My personal favorite is ProLabExpress (external link)but MPix (external link) does great work as well. I like PLE because you can mix paper types and they have tons of sizes and options and their proof books are wonderful.

So do you send them to the place online and have them sent to you or are they on locations?

Upload the file(s) online and for $4.95 I get the photos to my door. I suppose you can drop-ship them, but for what I do, I need the prints here so I mat/frame them.

Another vote for Mpix. If you need a web site to sell photos, take a look at Exposure Manager, they have their own lab.

You could have business cards made to prove you're a photographer.

There's no comparison between Walmart and a good photo lab. ;)

Ditto Hikin Mike...

Also, MPix is not really all that expensive. If you're printing photos for clients, the quality should trump cost anyway.

If you are going for cheap personal prints I like shutterfly or winkflash. The shipping part sucks but it's still better than wal-mart.

I believe Mpix prices aren't too much different from WalMart, but they are soo much better quality. The only additional thing is shipping that'll cost you $4.95 at most. They are fairly quick with most of the orders as well, so I really don't see any reason why not to start using Mpix or somebody similar. Plenty of threads on POTN that discuss some of the best places to get prints done.
