this was held in Golden Gate Badminton Club in Menlo Park, CA a couple of weeks ago.

Not many people shot badminton here. nice to see someone doing it and sharing.

Use to play too, Any images of jump smashes? I like jump smash images too

I tried shooting badminton, and man I wish I had half your skills lol.

#5 shows an illegal serve :p

another vote for #8, I like that one alot :)


a couple of cameras + eyes that are starting to open + boatloads of patience

Nice shots, but I'm not a big fan of the tilted crop...I know some like it, but its not for me...

thanks. :) he is the coach for most the players i photographed above. Tony will be playing in a major local tournament next month, i look forward to taking photographs of him. :)

i was about to try to locate an image with the more traditional angle for jump smashes... and "serviceover" posted it.

I like jmpsmash's version, and I wish the the 2nd image had a tighther focus on the face.

i think they all look great. normally i don't like the tile crop, but for picture number 8, it doesn't bother me at all :]

thanks. i agree, part of his face is not very visible. someone mentioned that we should try to shoot from a higher angle, we will try to do that next time.

thanks. i like the 8th one too. a lot of badminton shots are very cookie cutter, this one to my eyes is a fresher composition.
