after my previous attempt at Basketball Collages, my golf girls were excited and they asked if I could do one for golf too.

The regionals were over and they won, so I took another shot at collages,

this time round, instead of defining a fixed space like I did for basketball, I decided to let it "flow" but still with a fixed number of images and general locations for all the images.

Of course, give me your thoughts.

Latest Update, A not busy version... what do you guys think?

Great work, good posters! Way too cool. I think they are great! What program do you use and how long did it take you to put these together? Again really nice. Pete

Some might think there are too many pics pushed together, however, I have found that parents usually feel more is better. Personally I love them, great job of feathering pics together and then placing cutouts on top. Very well done and of course it starts with taking great photo's in the first place.

I think you're much closer with this style than you were with your original post.

However (don't you hate that word??), it took a bit of effort to discern which text was the golfer's name.

One idea: Lose the photo on the left in each one and put the golfer's name vertically in that space.

Pete - putting the 2nd one together in photoshop took about 30 minutes, however, thinking of how to lay it out for the 1st one took maybe about 1.5 to 2 hours, to decide and finalize a rough position and how I want to the sequence of images to be.

Programs used - Layers and masks in Photoshop, Masking software for the cutouts.

Jay - yeah, I'm looking into making another thing in the backgrond that will make the name stand out. I'll look into your suggestion and play around with it. Thanx

I found that golf images has alot of dead space, I went around with the idea that is similar to my basketball collages, a total number of images and a fixed position for each image. however, I couldn't do like a fixed fixed position, so I tried to blend the images together and used the cutouts to fill the dead spaces.

I still don't quite like it... something seems wrong somewhere, but can't put my finger on it

no doubt you have done some great work here....

however, I'm not too sure if the "skin" showing in #2(Tara) is appropriate for this type of work. don't get me wrong...personally I like it, but she/other viewers may not.

just my .02

great PP work and great photog work

Tara is the only player that showed skin, LOL, I was there during one of their practice days and they were talking about their uniforms and I wanted to tell them that it's a little short and more often than not, I catch skin in my images...

I understand what you mean, Ben and I'm not really concerned with it ;) No worries about you. Good of you to bring it up though.

Ah... Jay, I understand what you mean by closer with this style, I did a search of my past posts and realised that the 1st collage I did of basketball, after receiving comments and feedbacks, I did some changes but did not post them up... So I confused everyone by mentioning that I followed the style of my basketball collages.

I'm setting up another thread for the re-designed basketball collages.

Looks good, my only comment is the font for the player's name.
maybe a border or glow would help it stand out just a bit... "champions"
with the golf ball as an O looks great tho...

A rookie here, but as far as golfers showing skin.....Tara looks like she's got the long torso - much like my daughter. She was a 4-year varsity High School golf player and the shirts were NEVER long enough for her, yet there were little short, short-bodied girls that the shirts were so tough to manage being so long. At the beginning of the season she was fine because it was quite cool/cold and she'd wear an under armour under it, but when the season gets rolling along, it's 108 most tournaments! When my daughter would just stand still or be putting, it was fine, the shirt was plenty long, but not on a full-swing.. . thus a great pose for a great shot!

I love the posters too, by the way! Great job!

They both look great. The "skin" aspect (second) is not really an issue, how ever 3 out of the 4 showing her full face have the same expression.

I've seen a lot of bad looking poster/Collage stuff. I opened this one thinking here we go again... but this one looks pretty good. Its well done, if I had to peg one thing about it that works, its the feathering of the pics.
