not sure how i feel about this pic, but i tried it in color too, and i much prefer the black and white

looks a little flat - I'd say go back and try another B&W conversion!

I kind of like it, but would move the bike to the right & just use the boards as a background to reduce distractions. And give it more room at the front than at the back.

looks a little flat

Layer Masks are great for that.
You can level out the exposure using a selection & a Layer Mask. See post #9; PS Elements in Post # 14
