After the 1.41 update to Lightroom, Adobe Photo downloader kept nuisance loading on startup.
I've seen posts by frustrated users suggesting several registry hacks to disable it. If you are annoyed by this program loading at startup there is a much simpler way. Simply use the old DOS method for Windows to skip the file.
Find adproxy.exe in your Lightroom folder. Simply rename the file by adding a tildy (~) character in front of the file name. That's it. If in the future you want the file to load, just remove the tildy.
BTY Photoshop users should using the tildy to disable the Digimarc reading process so Photoshop will load faster.
