HS Baseball - man am I rusty....

I was asked to shoot one of my friends kids.....I arrived to find out he was playing left field this day and would not be batting either.....

This was the first game out for the year, I am rusty, my technique is off, my reactions were slow, the wind was blowing at about 20 knots, the sun was low & bright and the clouds were intermittent. Enough excuses?

All shot with a 300mm lens at f2.8 or with a 1.4TC on at f4.....and an MKIIn

ISO 100 - 200 depending on clouds.

All post processing was done in Aperture as I am trying to speed up my post process workflow.... ie - no PS.

Comments and critiques are welcome and encouraged.......

Love the sharp as tack focus on them.......wow that 300 2.8 is a real keeper! Nice work.

Looks good Randy. You actually got a bat on ball and it show the face, that's pretty rare.

Very nice images! I like #6 because it's not to often (at least to me) that you see a HS pitcher throwing a curve ball like that.
