Auto Bracketing with Mark II

My 1D Mark II shuts off auto bracketing every time I change lenses or turn off the camera. Is anyone else having this happen? I have RTFM and don't see anything that indicates that the camera is supposed to do that. Thanks.

Since I've not had any responses, let me re-phrase the question: Would someone else with a 1D Mark II please set auto exposure bracketing and see if it is cancelled whenever you change lenses or turn off the camera? It should only take a minute to try it. Thanks. :D

Check to see if your CFn-09 is set to 0 or 2. In those settings AEB will be cancelled when the lens is changed or the camera is switched off.

Thank you, Leo! You're a genius. :D

I have to admit it, as many times as I had been through the manual and menus, I missed that one.

Mark, the 1D mk II manual is pretty criptic with the descriptions of the custom functions so it's understandable that you missed it. You might find the custom function descriptions a little more helpful (i.e. concise and to the point) here:

Thanks again, Leo. They do a pretty good job describing things on that site. Maybe they could help Canon write the next manual! :D

What's really ironic is that I'm sure most of the technical specs (including the custom function descriptios) you see published at these review sites come directly from Canon in their "press" package. Too bad that same package didn't go to the department that put the user's manual together. ?!

Thanks, Pekka. That is a good one--I just printed it out. - Mike H
