Too many buttons, need bigger CF cards, D%$m this camera takes pictures fast
Yes it arrived and I have it in my greedy little hands, despite the best efforts of Fed Ex to let some one else pick it up from my porch.
Nothing better then checking on the status (expecting it to be attempted delivery returning to station) and seeing delivered left on front porch.
An $8000 camera left on front porch....arggh.... run home after checking with the person I am supporting today that they don't need me. No bricks, no empty box, there is a box, and it has yes....
A brand new CANON 1DS MARK II sixteen point seven mega pixels of righteous resolution.
Love to send a picture, but I am on the computer that does not have the functions I need to FTP an image to my web site, you will have to wait a bit for that (I still need to check my email so will post when I do that on the other computer)
Had it since 3:25pm, but had to stay off phone line (only have one) until after 5pm just in case my boss needed me.
first impressions
- Still waiting for battery to charge
- why no hand strap
- It seems to be lighter then my 10D w/battery grip and two BP-511s (note running of DC converter right now)
- It turns on real quick
- 4FPS is quite fast enough thank you. I only wanted one picture not two, back to single shot mode
- Seems to have much better AF then 10D, definately has more focus points which tend to hit the correct object more often (so far)
- darn rainy day
- PS CS no work, must wait for update
- seems a bit soft compared to straight out of 10D, reminds me of first impression of D60 shots
- My 1 gig 40x Lexar goes noticeably faster then my standard 1gig Sandisk, did I mention I need a bigger CF card
- firewire - woo hoo!!!
- And I thought 150 images per hour was a bit excessive, with this puppy I will be spending more time transfering the images to my computer then taking them. I filled up the 1gig San disk while waiting for the 40X lexar to transfer using my computer's card reader. And I wasn't even trying.
- battery done and yes it took 2 hours as stated.
to sum it all up.........niiiccce, very nice.
nah nah nah nah!!! 8) 8)
