It was a beautiful clear nite here so even though I didn't have a tripod I tried to take some handheld moon shot pic's just to goof around. I read that its tricky so figured I could use the practice. I've been wanting to take a few moon shots so I had some fun. C&C welcome!!

Shot at 400mm, 1/125, F11, ISO 200 with my arms prop'd up on my truck.

Nice but it just doesn't seem sharp enough for me.

Thats a good shot for hand holding or truck holding :) tripods do help immensely also mirror lock up and manual focus and a remote shutter, all these little things seem to help out in the end ,thats what I have found. :D

A little L goes a long way.

Thanks for the advice. I guess my truck holding technique isn't that good. I have a torn rotator cuff in my left shoulder so it was really painful trying to steady the lens. To me it felt like the lens was dancing all over the place. I was curious how much shots were going to come out.
