I did a search to see if this had been posted before, but couldn't see any obvious reference to it. So here it is: an article about a blind photographer:

I'm sure she gets something out of it, as do those who appreciate her work, but for me in that situation it would be a completely pointless exercise.

What are your views? Laughable or laudable?

Mike

Laughable. I'm not going to sugar coat it.

Not only cannot a blind person compose a shot, they have no direct way to appreciate the outcome.

I know blind people can often be helped to do things that you would not expect them to do. People sometimes laugh (wince?) at the idea of blind hunters, but at least they can eat the animal at the end of the hunt.

while it's cool that sees doing something she likes, I find it laughable. However she has gallery showings and I don't so I guess I need a better gimmick than "i'm good"

I suppose it's laudable. I know some of the photos I take make me think I'm blind!

Honestly though I think it's just another 15 minutes of fame. There is overcoming a disability to achieve great things such as Sarah Biffen, and this doesn't seem to be the case in my opinion.
