What white balance do you normally use when taking macro? I ALWAYS get this overpowering warming wb. But It's just on auto. I think the onboard flash use may have something to do with this. Any suggestions?

I use the Digital Photo Professional that comes bundled with your camera for the RAW conversion. The camera is set on AWB but it wouldn't matter what it was set on. For good eye detail you need to open up - around f8/f7.1 Toby

This thread has a good illustration of target influenced differences in exposure readings, too. FrankC - 20D, RAW, Manual everything...
