Thanks Christy,
I just remembered that you may like to share with your son the following link that I have been working on for some time but yet to be updated this year. I wanted to leave my son a series of images of the endangered species being kept at the zoo and that within his lifetime will probably disappear altogether. Click on the image to see the series.

These are great! Your series on the tigers are way too cool! The 1st one I would print and hang. All of them are just great. I thank you for sharing these fine images. Pete

Thanks Pete :-)
Yes, many of my friends have asked for prints of the first image and I have one in A2 size in my office.

I am not sure if you will appreciate it but I also capture animals with funny expressions when it present itself. Here is one...

I call it - "That chicken is finger lickin good!"

Here is another dramatic image of the Tiger about to jump.

KOMODO DRAGONS

These are dangeroulsy toxic and carniverous lizards that can reach the size of full grown crocodiles. We have a few and their smiling expression belies their dangerous character.

Thanks for these also, the first brings a smile to me. The second just tells me feel the power ready to explode. If I ever get a chance to visit there I am going to the zoo, would love to capture these type images. Great images. Thank you!

Thanks everyone!

It took a fair bit of practice but I think the reasons why the images work is because I learnt how to be patient with animals. Afterall its a zoo so if the animals are not accommodating, just move on to another exhibit and return later. For those wanting to pick up some hints, find out when the feeding times are, when are the most active hours they are.

Each visit should be limited to 3 to maximum of 6 animals (spend about 30-45 minutes each animal pen and bring the right lenses for each animal - before you get so tired out that you loose your patience and creativity.

Shoot with backgrounds that do not show the fence or any man made objects. Get interesting poses of the animals doing something. If not, get them when they look you right in the eye.

Of course all the right camera equipment helps! :-)

Cheers
