A lot of people say the 70-200 F4 is not a good lens, but this photo is sharp enough to cut. Great photo!

Is canon 5d Mark III and Canon 600mm IS II ok for ZOO?

Sure... That's a lot of hardware but I am sure you'll get some great shots...

It would depend on the zoo. I usually use a Canon crop camera and a 200L lens when going to the Memphis, TN zoo and I often have to back away to get the framing I want. When I take my 100-400 lens and crop camera, I rarely shoot at 400mm. On a full frame, I think either a 300 or 400mm lens would be sufficient for most zoos.

Canon 7D, 5D, 35L, 50 f/1.4, 85 f/1.8, 135L, 200L, 10-22, 17-55, 70-300, 100-400L, 500D, 580EX(2).
Sigma 150 macro, 1.4X, 2X, Quantaray 2X, Kenko closeup tubes, Yongnuo YN685(3), Yongnuo YN-622C-TX. Lots of studio stuff.

I use my 150-600 zoom in the zoo but also a second body with either the 200L or 100 macro.

The 600 reach can be useful for isolating subjects but I think it could be limiting in many situations, also quite bulky, I have enough trouble not decapitating people with the zoom!

Don't make it you only lens option.
