Selling photos to a local radio station

Hi I was wondering if there was a cookie cutter model for submitting photos to a radio station or tv whatever it maybe. I took some photos at an event that a radio station sponsored and one of the staff guys liked the photos and told me to e-mail them to the station so that they could use them and I want to get paid off of them or set up with pay gigs that they throw in the future. How would one more experienced go about submitting the photos with the criteria wanted?

Why don't/didn't you talk to the guy that said he liked the photos and wanted to use them? You've got a perfect opportunity to talk to him and find out if you can work something out to get future gigs and payment for your services.

True, I saw the $ sign when he said that, so I was wondering how I should go about requesting money for it from a company like that since I've never done it before. If I don't do it for this time its always good for me to know for later on in case I ever want to sell pictures to producers or something like that.
