Looking for new P&S

I am ready to give up my Nikon coolpic 4300 for a new PS camera. Any suggestions? I am into DSLR photography as well.I am not sure what the newer technology is in the PS department.Budget- I want to keep it around $200. Thanks.

Basically just to use it as a PS camera with a decent start up time. Not too concerned with manual controls. At least a 2.5 inch - 3 inch screen.At least 7 MP or higher. Something not to large. I want to walk around with it and shoot things like festivals where there is alot of people and not enough room to use my DSLR.
I guess I basically need to know- what should I stay away from? Is face recognition legit? Things have changed a little in the past 4 years.

For a great, proven, ultracompact check out the Canon PowerShot SD1000. It's a great companion to my comparitively enormous 10D and churns out consistently-good shots. 7.1 MP, 230,000 pixel 2.5" LCD, honest-to-goodness face detection. They can be found for around $150 new. Here is a sample straight from the camera:
