well today was the end of the regular season for club play here and what a season it was!

Clash Ice and Royal who are sister teams showed how true soccer should really be played!

Coaches: Head coach: Anthony
Conditioning coach: Robert
Defensive coach:Lisa
Midfield/striker and 1 on 1 skills trainer: Matt (which is me)
led the teams to fantastic records and drastic improvements over the season!

Overall in the fall Royal finished 1st in the state for the age group having a perfect 9-0 record. In the spring they had a rougher time finishing up 6-2-1 but placing 3rd in the state.

Clash Ice in the fall finished 7-2-0 and placed 2nd in the state, then the spring season had a perfect 10-0-0 season and placed 1st.

Overall my teams finished up 1 and 2, ice taking the top spot with royal only 1 draw behind. Me and my father (anthony) have been coaching soccer for 5 years togethor and this marks our most successful season. These young ladies showed so much dedication and heart.

without further adue (Spelling) heres a few shots i took from this afternoon! let me know what you think

First 2 from Clash Royal

fantastic series!! I cannot believe these teams at this age.....look like 12? have 3 and 4 coaches!! Question: why do some of the pics have a higher ISO setting? Do you change this as you go?

its actually U10, so 9 and 10 year olds. theres a large coaching staff because were all family :P. the head coach is my father, the defensive coach is my sister, the skills and striker/midfield coach is me, and the conditioning coach is my uncle. the conditioning coaches daughter is on one of the teams which is how we all got started, it was originally just robert, then my father stepped in, and later me and my sister wanted to start helping so we just split up the areas of play between us.

The iso is different because it was a cloudy day so lighting conditions changed throughout the game. Also 1,2,6 were from one game and 3,4,5 were different games, the sun was higher in the sky for 3,4,5 but i was shooting into the sun much of the time to get the ring lighting affect and had to bump up iso to expose the faces and keep my shutter speed up

wow!! that is awesome to have so much help!! Perhaps this is not the best place to discuss this....however, since we are already here.....do you play certain players at certain positions at this age? Or do you mix it up and let them choose?
thanks for the expl. on the iso...makes sense.

its not completely set positions yet. the most set thing is goalie where we only have 2-3 players on each team that ever play goalie. and of course in the tougher games we put the players at their best positions but its not set like we only have 2 center mids and these players are ONLY strikers etc. alot of times we have to take players out of their element and put say our best strikers on defense cause were winning by such a high margin already but we wont have set positions untill U13 at the earliest which is when you start playing state cup.
