At least that's what's showing on the Calumet site this morning:

Apologies if this has already been posted. I know there are a number of would-be buyers who have been wringing their hands over the protracted backorder situation with these lights.

SWEET!

I thought it might've been a mistake but I just got an email from Calumet that says my backordered lights have shipped!

I just checked my email and saw that in two days I will have my 200 kit. UPS has it in warehouse now. Glad I got it while it was on sale and saved 20$.

I'd like to know if anything was changed/fixed in this current batch of kits.

I spoke with a rep on Saturday and he couldn't confirm or deny that the cap was fixed to accomodate the modeling light (or vice versa).

But I did get my order in and got an email that it is shipping today. So we're on. Now I got to figure out my soft box options.

I think I'm going to get some Amvona stuff to try out. But I do have to figure out how to adapt the speed ring. So new to this, might take a while to figure it all out.

... snip ...

I spoke with Calumet earlier today and was told my replacement protective caps (for the Genesis lights) were being "processed" and that I should receive them this week. We'll see.

Also, the person with whom I spoke did not know if anything had been changed in this batch of lights.

Are they sending out the replacement caps to all previous purchasers or should I call them to make sure that I get a set?

I'd be pretty stunned if you got 'em out of the blue without talking to them and complaining about the existing caps. I think Tetrode's one of the few that's actually complained to Calumet about the caps.

Just got off the phone with Calumet. Purchased a Genesis 200 kit (to go with my Genesis 400 kit) and the sales rep confirmed they were in stock and ready to go. Unfortunately he didn't know whether caps were lengthened or the old style either. Sigh ...
