Are they sending out the replacement caps to all previous purchasers or should I call them to make sure that I get a set?

Call them. I complained about the design back when I first received the lights and one or two times after that. I finally hit paydirt when one of the customer service guys inquired about the caps on my behalf and was told by his manager that they were, in fact, being redesigned. The CSR volunteered to send me replacements once they became available. This might have been 5 or 6 weeks ago now. I'm not going to get too excited until I actually have the replacements in hand.

With fingers crossed,

Dave F.

Two days until I get mine. I got mine with free shipping too when I first ordered them in Feb.

Will charge up my batteries to get some photos. I have water damage in the room I was gonna use them so no pics of them in action from me until that is fixed.

I guess I'll be giving them a call.

I hope you get yours Dave, my fingers are crossed for you as well.

I'd be pretty stunned if you got 'em out of the blue without talking to them and complaining about the existing caps.

Yeah, wishful thinking and all on my part :)

Thanks, Hudge. I just received a Quantum View shipping notification from UPS telling me there's a package en route from Calumet. It's scheduled to be delivered on the 24th. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it turns out to be two more of the very same protective caps that came with the Genesis lights in the first place. We'll see.

Oh, the suspense.

The big brown truck just dropped off my 200 kit that I ordered on Monday. Everything looks pretty good and it came with a longer protective cover for the modeling light as well as the older one that was too short. I won't have anytime until the weekend to try it out:(

I had the opportunity to test the Calumet Genesis 200's and give a quickie review.

I've been doing lots of reading, and made my mind up that I will pick up the Genesis strobes to play with Studio photography. I keep reading about these coupons, and when I visit the this site it gives me a link to Calumet. When I click on the link, it just takes me to Calumet's home page.

Is the free shipping coupon still valid? If so, how do you get it to update your cart? Thanks.

You need to actually sign in with an account and then add the kit to your cart. Check out and you will see the free shipping option (step 4).
