Tell me why these look exceptionally awesome to me.

i agree, the lighting was either awesome or you did some great work on the pp

number 1 just looks surreal.

i think it's the light, IMO, cause of #4

Great shots... Great action too... Kids photograph great in soccer...

I once played (co-captained) a college soccer team at the US Nationals in Florida... The *sunlight* on the field was awesome... (so were the 19 goals we scored in the tourney, ha, ha.) That was back in 1969. (We only lost to the national champions by a lousy penalty kick.)

You've got a great opportunity to hone your shooting skills to perfection... Just don't forget to bring your camera to every game and keep posting these great shots...

Many thanks! I'm thinking it was the light. I don't do much in PP except levels and USM.

If anyone is interested, the first three shots were all taken at f/5, 1/1000s and ISO 200.

Which team? That was, no doubt a great experience for you.

I appreciate your kind words. I'll be shooting another game this evening. Funny thing, a mother once asked me why I take so many pictures. "What do you do with them?" I didn't really know how to answer her.

ahh i just looked at your gear list and needless to say im jelous :P (collage sucks up allllll my money)

and im also curious as to what team you played for john, i played for the University of New mexico in 2005 when we made it to the national finals...it was an unbelievable experience, but to me the better experience was the semi finals here in my home town where after the final whistle blew EVERYONE in the stands rushed the field to congratulate us...it was amazing, to me much better than walking off the field inthe wake of our 0-1 loss to maryland

Many thanks....yes, I was belly down on the ground....I don't wear nice duds to soccer games to be sure.

Those first 3 shots look absolutely stunning- the light is just perfect and I really love the perspective from down on the ground--very, very nice.

Well i've always been told to shoot low but i've never seen anyone do that at football (sorry soccer). Tell you what though - you nailled it!

Nice job. These stand out for me because you've taken a low position (or was it remote?) and made the players look big.

So many people take photos of their kids playing football and they tower above them, thus killing the shot but these are well thought out and well executed.
