I'm currently using ZoomBrowser to load and covert my raw G1 photos to tiff files. I load the tiff files into PS5.5 for processing.

Is there software that will convert many raw images to tiff files at one time, like batch processing?

The real problem is that I load the raw images into ZoomBrowser and then look to see which ones I'd like to play around with. The thumbnails are so small I have to use the magnifier to see them. If I want to see a full size image, the software has to process it and it takes a while.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You can use Polyview to do this. See http://www.polyview.com/download.htm (external link)
Download Polyview 3.53 and Polyview Canon CRW support. Then read a little in the help-file and off you go.

Roel:

Bibble said they supported .crw files and later found that only the files created by the D30 worked. The G1 files did not work with the software.

Does Polyview work specifically with G1 .crw files?

Thanks.

Yes, Polyview's CRW plugin works fine with G1 and Pro90 CRW's.

Give it a try, it's not a big download.

Download Canon new USB 3.6 driver. It includes a batch CRW -> TIFF conversion utility, with similar interface to the Twain driver. I tried on WinME / 866Mhz: 2 seconds to start, approx 11 seconds per image.

nadim:

Thanks for the tip. There have been so many suggestions on this and other forums that my head is spinning. I'm waiting for the dust to settle. :)

It seems that there isn't one package that can do it all. You need one to download from the camera/card/drive, another to convert raw to tiff (with WB or not, single coversion or batch), another for thumbnails/album/storage, another for editing, another for printing...it's alot to digest. I don't really have the time to try them all.

I'll give it another week before I decide which ones to try. Thanks again.
