I think I have gotten much better in a very short period of time (thanks to members on this forum) and want to share some recent photos. I dont know how to edit them or have any software to do so, so these are right out of the camera for the most part...

My seven year old plays on the Red Sox "Farm" Team and my eleven year old plays on the Yankee "Majors" Team as well as on the Claremont Clash Travel Ball Team. Most of my oldest sons games are in the evening so there are some tricky lighting situations to deal with. As always, please CC this so I may continue to improve.

Robert~

I like #1 very much. #4 and #5 are also nice.

You say you didn't so anything to these then why exif is stripped? I just wanted to get an idea of the focal lengths used for each shot.

My favorite is the 4th. Assuming you used the 70-200?

Thanks! Yeah... Kyle is a great little player. He hits so well and has such a great baseball sense.

These are a few of my favorites as well. It's hard to choose what to post without turning the post into a gallery.

I'm not sure why the exif is stripped? I have a laptop that came pre-loaded w/ Picasa and I use it to crop the images and in some rare cases I'll lighten up a dark photo or add some saturation but that's all I know how to do. What program would you all recommend I pick up? I dont want to spent hours in PP so it's gotta be simple but good.

I'll post the data below each image in a few.

Actually that picture was taken w/ a 100-400L. I dont own that lens anymore because 95% of my eldest sons games are in evening and that lens was too slow to stop the action.

I'm not sure I'm the best person to ask quite yet... I'm still listening to others and reading a ton! There is still a ton of pictures coming out of my camera that are not "keepers" but that is all part of the process I guess.

I will usually shoot in either 2.8 to 4.0 at ISO speeds 200-400 and just fast enough to freeze the action. Usually 500 or better. If 500 is too fast and the pictures are dark i will either open it up or step up the ISO. I'll put the details under each picture as well as the time of day and weather conditions to help paint a better picture for you.
