The Fig Rig from Bogen / Manfrotto seems like a nice product to use with rigs to reduce friction at the end. Anyone got any experience with these?

Got the parts in and took a few shots of the gear. I ended up buying another 5ft antenna mast (photo only shows 2). All 3 put together measure a little over 12ft. BTW. don't hate the bling gold poles.

No rolling rig shots yet since it was too bright out (even with a CP. I don't have a ND filter). Hope to get some rig shots later or tomorrow.

That thing looks dangerous, its starting to bow already, i would suggest losing the grip to drop some weight.

Expensive. Just those two parts together exceed $400... Then you have the other stuff to purchase for mounting...

have you tried a larger f stop? i agree with turbodude, you should ditch the grip and wrap the shoulder strap up.

Hopefully my aluminum tubing ships out very soon... No one is interested in buying my magnets, so I might try a rather simple setup with them so I can get some shots in.

Yeah, the grip came off right after the photos. I don't get how people use magic arms which is heavier then the ball head I'm using. The strap was left that way just for the photos. Now that I bought another pole, I'll be able to put the cups further apart. That should help minimize the pole flexing. We'll see. As you guys already know, it's a lot of trial and error.

Even at a 1sec shutterspeed, f22 was not closed enough.

I find 1.5-2 seconds exposure optimal. 3-4 seconds give out too much blur to my taste.
