i am having trouble finding a nice piece to sue for the sail/gusset/whatever you call it. I have no trouble finding the cable. the turnbuckles I found were rather large as well, and i know HD has smaller ones.

I have been running an under carriage for a long time, but I needed something a little quicker to setup for shoots with less budget:

Just getting things finely tuned now.

nice set - I`m interesting, if you use your carbonpipes without additional stabilisation like cable or something else. I work with carbonpipes - length about 18 feet and I had to much bounce. If I reduce the length to 12 feet it works, but I wanted a longer boom.

Now I try a combination from my first alupipes and some carbonpipes with cable - it reduce the weight and works. But I´m not happy to buy expensive carbonpipes and don`t find a successful solution to use it until now.

Here are some shots I made with the carbonrig.

Excellent video. Makes a lot of sense. Pretty much how I've been doing it, but only need 15' instead of 20' (looks that way from the video) because I'm using a full frame camera (it appears you are using a crop body).

Thanks for the vid! It affirms what I've been doing already :)

does your pole not bounce much at that length? from the set up video it seems like it might be fairly bouncy during a roll. also, I saw 3 cups on teh ground. and then all 3 disappeared?

Thanks, i use both full frame and crop for rolling shots.. (different lenses of course, 10-22 and 16-35ii for crop and FF)
reason why is because I don't have 82mm ND filters for outdoor rigshots for my 16-35ii and the video is shot with the 5d2

I don't wanna sound queer or nothing, but may I ask what size your pole is?

I'm running 1.5" sched 40 (1.9"OD) and i get loads of bounce with a 10' pole.

Around 1 3/4 inches.. Honestly all boom bounces, even mine bounce too.. It is more trial and error till u find a way to get a sharp image than building a rig with no bounce because that is pretty much impossible for a boom rig
