Nice edit! what are you using to sharpen?

SkyW wrote in post #10571235 (external link)
Wow...that looks great :)

How did you do the sharpening?? It looks much better than the original

For the sharpening, I sharpened and noise reduced a little bit in RAW first and then after editing everything, I run it through unsharp mask in PS and then used Noise Ninja to reduce noise again.

And thanks to everyone else for the compliments. :)

I'm looking into making a rig using suction cups and I was wondering if any of you have experienced any panel damage using this mounting method. I mean dents or creases, rather than scratches.

I'm a little concerned by the prospect of hanging a camera at the end of a 15' pole, with that weight pulling and pushing on the respective suction cups.

My experience of modern car body panels (especially roof panels and bonnets) is that it's very easy to dent them, even with some relatively light pressure by hand.

---------------

EDIT:

Right, I've finished reading the whole thread (it took me three nights) and I can see that that there's a lot of potential for panel damage.

By the way, I was very surprised to see that nearly every US-based post in this thread featured a Japanese car, or the occasional German car. Very few American cars at all.

Does the American car industry still exist over there? Just about every American car ever produced (up to and including 1971) was really cool, so something must have gone badly wrong in recent years.

Japanese cars are very common over here too, but I was surprised at how popular they are over there. I've always seen the Americans as a very independent and patriotic nation, so it's a bit of a surprise to see that foreign brands are so popular these days.

I suppose I'm not really that well informed on modern motoring over there. My interest is in the classic American cars, so I think I get a bit of a distorted view.

read my post in the for sale section. I said that it doesn't come with the main poles... those pictured are for other configurations... such as interior shots or mounting the pole higher/lower...etc.

Been a while since I used my rig. But had a chance this weekend!

Enjoy.
